About Galilee Energy
Galilee Energy Limited (Galilee) is a Brisbane based oil and gas exploration company committed to maturing coal seam gas Reserves from its 100% owned exploration permits in Queensland, with primary focus on its flagship Glenaras Gas Project in ATP 2019, which is strategically located in western Queensland’s Galilee Basin.
ATP 2019 covers an area of approximately 3,200km2 and hosts one of the largest remaining uncontracted gas resources on the east coast of Australia. Independently derived and certified Contingent Resources+ are estimated in the coals of the Late Permian Betts Creek Beds to be 1C of 308 PJ, 2C of 2,508 PJ and 3C of 5,314 PJ. Galilee’s highest priority is to mature these significant Contingent Resources at Glenaras to Reserves through the most timely and efficient manner as possible.
Galilee energy has committed to successfully achieving commercial gas production at Glenaras, while transforming the produced water into a value adding profitable commodity:
- High water production rates are providing a positive impact with recent pressure data confirming that the coals are depressurising towards critical desorption levels and increasing gas rates, despite their vertical connectivity to water-bearing sands.
- The produced water is an extremely valuable commodity in its own right through its proven use in extensive crop irrigation without the need for necessary treatment, which in turn demonstrates the potential viability of an integrated gas and agri business under a full Glenaras development.
- The significant volumes of produced water provide further potential beneficial use in other carbon abatement opportunities that can be seamlessly integrated into any future Glenaras development.
